Refund policy

At Romans Jewelry, we take pride in the quality of our fine jewelry. Because many of our pieces contain precious metals and high-value gemstones, our return policy is carefully structured to protect both our customers and our business. Please review the following terms before making a purchase. Our return policy constitutes a contractual agreement between Romans Jewelry and the purchaser. By completing a purchase, you agree to all these terms.

1. Return Eligibility (14 Days)

Eligible items may be returned within 14 days from the confirmed delivery date. A return request must be submitted within 14 days of confirmed delivery. Once the return is approved, the item must be shipped back within 3 business days.

Item/items must be unworn, unused, and in original saleable condition.

All original packaging must be included:

  • Jewelry box

  • Tags & cards

  • Certificates

  • Void/security stickers (must remain attached and unremoved)

  • Any promotional or free items included with the purchase

Items showing signs of wear, scratches, bent prongs, stone damage, resizing, or alteration will not qualify for refund. Refunds are issued only after inspection and approval.

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to determine the condition of the item upon inspection.

2. Final Sale Items (Non-Returnable)

All SALE or discounted merchandise, custom-designed jewelry, personalized or engraved items, resized items, special orders, layaway items, and gift cards are FINAL SALE and not eligible for return or refund.

3. Loose Diamonds & Gemstones

Loose natural and lab-grown diamonds are non-refundable. Exchanges are permitted only within 3 business days of delivery and must include the original grading certificate

(GIA / IGI / etc.). If the grading certificate is lost or damaged, a replacement fee of $250 and up (depending on carat weight) will apply.

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to verify that any returned stone matches the original item sold through professional gemological inspection including verification of laser inscriptions, serial numbers, gemstone characteristics, and metal composition.

4. Return Authorization Required

If approved, you will receive return instructions and shipping guidance. Items sent without authorization will not be accepted.

5. Inspection & Refund Process

All returned merchandise undergoes professional inspection.

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to:

  • Deny returns that do not meet policy requirements

  • Issue partial refunds for items returned in diminished condition

  • Refuse returns that appear altered, switched, tampered with, or damaged

Refunds are processed to the original form of payment within 5โ€“10 business days after approval. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to deduct non-refundable payment processing fees from refunds where applicable.

6. Shipping & Risk of Loss

All orders require signature confirmation upon delivery.

Once the carrier marks the package as delivered, Romans Jewelry is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping addresses.

Packages returned due to incorrect address or delivery failure will require reshipping fees.

For returns, customers assume responsibility for the item until it is received and inspected by Romans Jewelry.

Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item was received damaged or defective.

Returned items must be shipped fully insured for their full purchase value and require signature confirmation upon delivery.

Romans Jewelry offers free shipping within the United States on orders over $350+.

International shipping starts at $55.

Any taxes or duties due upon international delivery are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

We ship to the following countries:

  • United Kingdom

  • Hong Kong

  • Japan

  • Canada

  • Switzerland

  • and additional countries depending on carrier availability.

Orders may ship via UPS or FedEx depending on destination.

7. Damaged or Defective Items

All merchandise is inspected before shipment.

Customers must inspect their purchase immediately upon delivery.

If you believe your item has a manufacturing defect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide clear photos or video documentation. Damage caused by wear, impact, negligence, or third-party repair will not be covered.

8. Holiday Return Extension

Purchases made between November 20 โ€“ December 25 may be returned through January 15, provided the item is unworn, undamaged, and includes all original packaging and documentation.

Holiday returns must still comply with all return eligibility requirements outlined in this policy.

9. Fraud Prevention & Legal Disclosure

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to refuse any unreasonable return, deny returns suspected of fraud or item switching, and verify gemstones and metals before refund approval. Our return policy constitutes a contractual agreement between Romans Jewelry and the purchaser. By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.

10. Chargeback & Payment Dispute Policy

Customers agree to contact Romans Jewelry directly to resolve any concerns before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with their bank or credit card provider.

If a chargeback is initiated without prior contact, Romans Jewelry reserves the right to dispute the claim by submitting transaction records, delivery confirmation, signature verification, photographs of the shipped item, and this return policy as evidence.

Any fraudulent chargebacks or attempts to retain merchandise while disputing payment may be subject to civil recovery actions and collection efforts where permitted by law.

11. Item Verification & Documentation

All high-value jewelry and watches sold by Romans Jewelry are documented prior to shipment through detailed photography, gemstone identification, metal verification, and where applicable, laser inscription documentation.

Returned merchandise must match the exact item originally sold.

Any item that does not match our documented records may be refused and reported if necessary.

12. Refusal of Service

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to refuse service, cancel transactions, or deny returns to customers suspected of fraudulent activity, abuse of return policies, excessive return history, or violation of store policies.

13. Stone Loss Disclaimer

Romans Jewelry is not responsible for gemstone loss due to impact, wear, accidental damage, or improper care after delivery.

Customers are encouraged to insure fine jewelry through their homeownerโ€™s insurance or a personal jewelry insurance policy.

14. Order Verification & Fraud Protection

High-value orders may require additional identity verification prior to shipment to prevent fraudulent transactions.

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to delay shipment until verification is completed.

15. Customer Agreement to Return Policy

By completing a purchase from Romans Jewelry, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the Romans Jewelry Return Policy, Shipping Policy, and Terms of Sale prior to completing the transaction.

Failure to comply with these policies may result in denial of returns, refunds, or exchanges.
