LIMITED WATCH WARRANTY

At Romans Jewelry, we proudly stand behind the timepieces we sell and service. This Limited Watch Warranty clearly defines the scope of coverage and establishes the terms under which service may be provided.

By purchasing a watch from Romans Jewelry, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Limited Watch Warranty.

This warranty protects both our customers and our business while ensuring that watches are properly maintained and serviced.

1. Warranty Coverage Period

Romans Jewelry guarantees that watches purchased from us will operate within manufacturer timekeeping specifications for: Two (2) years from the original date of purchase.

A valid proof of purchase from Romans Jewelry is required to obtain warranty service.

This warranty:

  • Applies only to the original purchaser
  • Is non-transferable
  • Applies only to watches purchased directly from Romans Jewelry

2. What This Warranty Covers

This warranty covers the following issues when determined to be caused by a manufacturing defect or workmanship error:

โ€ข Mechanical movement failure


โ€ข Quartz movement failure due to internal defect


โ€ข Internal component malfunction not caused by external damage


โ€ข Workmanship defects from service performed by Romans Jewelry

All warranty evaluations, diagnostics, and determinations of defect are performed at the sole discretion of Romans Jewelry.ย 

Romans Jewelry reserves the right to:

  • Repair the watch
  • Replace defective components
  • Replace the movement if necessary
  • Decline coverage if warranty conditions are not met

Warranty liability is strictly limited to repair or replacement of defective components.

3. Timekeeping Accuracy Disclaimer

Mechanical watches are not perfectly precise instruments.

Timekeeping accuracy within manufacturer specifications (typically ยฑ5 to ยฑ15 seconds per day depending on model and movement) is considered normal and does not constitute a defect.

Quartz watches may vary slightly depending on:

  • Battery condition
  • Environmental conditions
  • Temperature variation

Minor timekeeping variation is considered normal mechanical behavior.

4. Water Resistance Policy

If โ€œWATER RESISTANTโ€ appears on the case back (excluding vintage watches), the watch has been tested to a minimum of 3 bar (30 meters) unless otherwise specified.

Water resistance ratings reflect laboratory testing conditions and do not guarantee permanent water protection.

Water resistance can be compromised by:

โ€ข Aging gaskets
โ€ข Crown impact or damage
โ€ข Improper crown positioning
โ€ข Opening of the case
โ€ข Exposure to extreme heat or pressure

Water damage is specifically excluded from warranty coverage unless a confirmed manufacturing defect is identified during inspection.

Romans Jewelry strongly recommends annual water resistance testing.

Customers should:

  • Never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet
  • Avoid hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas
  • Avoid high-pressure water exposure

5. Proper Care Requirements

To maintain warranty validity, customers should follow proper care guidelines.

Avoid:

โ€ข Strong magnetic fields (phones, speakers, chargers, electronics)
โ€ข Dropping or striking the watch
โ€ข Extreme temperature changes
โ€ข Chemicals, perfumes, solvents, detergents, or insect repellents

Ensure the crown is fully secured when wearing the watch. Mechanical watches should be professionally serviced approximately every 4โ€“6 years to maintain proper operation.

6. Solar Watches

Solar-powered watches require regular exposure to light.

Failure to expose the watch to adequate light may cause power depletion, which is not considered a defect. Battery depletion caused by insufficient light exposure is not covered under warranty.

To recharge:

โ€ข Place under LED light for approximately 4โ€“8 hours
โ€ข Or place the dial in indirect sunlight while preventing overheating

7. Natural Materials Disclaimer

Certain watch components are made from natural materials and may exhibit variations.

Examples include:

  • Mother-of-pearl dials
  • Natural leather straps
  • Fabric straps

These materials may display natural color variation, texture differences, or aging characteristics.

Such characteristics are not considered defects.

Straps, bracelets, bands, clasps, and other wear components are considered consumable items and are not covered under warranty.

8. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

โ€ข Cosmetic wear (scratches, dents, fading, bezel wear)
โ€ข Crystal scratches or cracks
โ€ข Case damage
โ€ข Strap, bracelet, clasp, crown, stem, or battery wear
โ€ข Magnetization
โ€ข Water damage
โ€ข Impact damage
โ€ข Chemical exposure
โ€ข Extreme temperature exposure
โ€ข Improper storage
โ€ข Damage caused by misuse or negligence
โ€ข Natural aging or degradation
โ€ข Power reserve issues caused by lack of wear

Battery replacement is considered routine maintenance and is not covered unless failure results from a manufacturing defect.

Any third-party repair, modification, or opening of the watch case immediately voids this warranty.

9. Vintage Watches

Due to age and discontinued parts, vintage watches may not meet modern manufacturer tolerances. Water resistance is not implied or warranted for vintage watches.

For vintage watches:

  • Water resistance cannot be guaranteed
  • Full manufacturer specifications may not apply
  • Timekeeping variation may occur

10. Unauthorized Repairs & Part Substitution

Any service, repair, modification, or opening of the case by a third party immediately voids the warranty. If original manufacturer parts are unavailable, Romans Jewelry reserves the right to install equivalent quality replacement components.

11. Third-Party Service Liability Disclaimer

Romans Jewelry shall not be held responsible for damage, injury, mechanical failure, or loss that occurs as a result of inspection, opening, or servicing performed by any third-party watchmaker or repair facility.

Any attempt by a third party to:

  • Open the watch case
  • Diagnose internal issues
  • Replace components

immediately voids this warranty.

Romans Jewelry assumes no liability for damages allegedly caused during third-party service or inspection.

12. Shipment Inspection & Delivery Condition Policy

All watches sold by Romans Jewelry are photographed, documented, and inspected immediately prior to shipment.

Documentation may include:

  • Serial number recording
  • High-resolution photographs
  • Packaging documentation

Packages are shipped with tracking and signature confirmation.

Customers must inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery.

Any claim of:

  • Shipping damage
  • Missing items
  • Incorrect merchandise

Must be reported to Romans Jewelry within 48 hours of delivery.

Claims must include photos of:

โ€ข Outer shipping box
โ€ข Packaging materials
โ€ข Watch and contents received

Failure to report shipping issues within 48 hours may result in denial of the claim.

13. Shipping & Warranty Claims

Customers are responsible for shipping costs when sending watches for warranty evaluation.

All shipments must:

  • Be fully insured
  • Include tracking
  • Require signature confirmation

Romans Jewelry is not responsible for watches lost, stolen, or damaged during transit. All incoming watches are inspected and documented upon arrival.

14. Item Verification & Documentation

Romans Jewelry may document watches through:

  • Serial numbers
  • Photographs
  • Service records

Returned watches must match the original item sold. Items that do not match documentation may be refused or returned.

15. Limitation of Liability

Romans Jewelry shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the watch. Liability is strictly limited to repair or replacement under the terms of this Limited Warranty. No additional warranties, express or implied are provided beyond what is stated herein.

16. Returns

Eligible merchandise may be returned within 14 days of confirmed delivery. A return request must be approved within this period.

Returned items must be:

  • Unworn
  • Unused
  • In original saleable condition
  • Void tag attached / Not tamperedย 

All original packaging must be included. Items showing wear, damage, resizing, or modification are not eligible for refund. Returns are subject to inspection and approval.ย
