At Romans Jewelry, we understand that entrusting your jewelry to us by mail requires confidence. Many of our pieces feature precious metals and fine gemstones, and every repair is handled with the highest level of craftsmanship, care, and discretion.

Please note:
Our mail-in jewelry repair service is available only for jewelry originally purchased from Romans Jewelry or jewelry that we have previously repaired or worked on.

To ensure your experience is seamless and secure, please follow the instructions below carefully.

Providing thorough details allows our team to evaluate your jewelry accurately and begin the process efficiently.

Step 2 โ€“ Package Your Jewelry with Care

Proper packaging is essential to protect your jewelry in transit.

โ€ข Wrap the jewelry securely in a soft cloth or protective padding to prevent scratches, tangling, or damage during handling and transit. Ensure each piece is individually wrapped and cushioned so it cannot shift or rub against other items inside the packaging.
โ€ข Place it inside a sturdy box (do not use envelopes)
โ€ข Do not include original boxes, certificates, or accessories unless specifically requested
โ€ข Include a printed copy of your completed repair form
โ€ข Seal the package securely

Step 3 โ€“ Ship with Tracking, Insurance & Signature Confirmation

For your protection and ours, all mail-in repairs must be shipped with:

โ€ข Signature confirmation
โ€ข Insurance for the full replacement value of the item

We strongly recommend requesting adult signature confirmation upon delivery.

Please note:
Customers are responsible for all shipping costs (to and from Romans Jewelry). We do not cover inbound or return shipping for mail-in repairs.

Romans Jewelry is not responsible for items lost, stolen, or damaged in transit prior to confirmed delivery at our store.

After Your Item Arrives

Upon receipt, your jewelry will be logged into our system, photographed for condition documentation, and professionally inspected by our jewelers.

If an estimate is required, we will contact you promptly for approval before proceeding.

Please note:
โ€ข A diagnostic/inspection fee may apply for certain items or complex evaluations
โ€ข This fee will be communicated prior to proceeding

Once authorized, your repair will be completed with the same attention to detail and quality standards that define Romans Jewelry.

Estimated Turnaround Time
Approximately 3โ€“4 weeks, depending on complexity, parts availability, and seasonal volume.

Payment & Authorization

โ€ข Repairs will not begin without customer approval
โ€ข Full payment is required prior to return shipment
โ€ข Once approved, cancellations may not be possible if work has already begun

Return Shipping

โ€ข All completed repairs will be returned via insured, trackable shipping with signature confirmation. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs (to and from Romans Jewelry). We do not cover inbound or return shipping for mail-in repairs.
โ€ข Shipping carrier is selected at Romans Jewelryโ€™s discretion unless otherwise requested
โ€ข Customers assume responsibility for delivery once marked as delivered

Additional Information

โ€ข We reserve the right to decline any repair that may compromise the structural integrity or serviceability of an item
โ€ข We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, including weakened prongs, worn settings, brittle metals, or prior repairs
โ€ข Stone tightening and setting carry inherent risks, and stones may be damaged or lost due to pre-existing conditions beyond our control
โ€ข We are not responsible for damage to or loss of stones that are chipped, fractured, included, or previously set in worn or compromised mountings
โ€ข Color stones and treated gemstones (including but not limited to emeralds, opals, pearls, and heat/fracture-filled stones) may be especially susceptible to damage during repair
โ€ข Matching stones is not guaranteed if replacement is required
โ€ข We are not responsible for normal wear, minor surface changes, or variations in finish resulting from polishing or repair
โ€ข Items sent without a completed repair form may experience delays

Unclaimed Items Policy

Completed repairs not picked up or paid for within 90 days of notification may be subject to storage fees and/or considered abandoned in accordance with California law.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Romans Jewelry liability for any claim related to repair or service shall be limited to the amount paid for the repair service. We are not liable for incidental, sentimental, or consequential loss.
