Classic, collectible and rare Hamilton Railroad Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers 1898 Ball & Co. pocket watch. A beautifully polished yellow gold filled open face pocket watch, size 18. The case is in good condition, showing minor signs of wear. It features a double sunk porcelain dial that has black painted Arabic numerals and minute markers. The dial does have minor hairline fractures and a chip at numeral four, only to be expected of a pocket watch this age. The dial is fixed with beautiful metallic blue hour, minute, and seconds hands. Inner lid case marked GUARANTEED J. BOSS 14K 25 YEARS 6085890. Crystal is in excellent condition. Mechanical hand wind, lever set, 21 jewel, double roller, ball regulator, adjusted to temperature, and adjusted to five positions movement. Movement serial number 42637. Movement is marked Sapphire Pallets, 21 Jewels, 42637, Pat. Auc. 18’96., Trade Mark Official of Standard BLE, Adjusted, Patented June 30’96. Inner rim is marked 65890. Manufacturer in Cleveland, Ohio. Case measures 56mm diameter, 18.5mm thick.
